ST. LANDRY PARISH JAIL COORDINATION NOTARY GUIDE

READ THE GUIDE

IDENTIFY THE FACILITY

The sheriff’s visitation page says ordinary visits are 20-minute non-contact sessions and bars writing instruments inside secure areas.

ARRANGE AN APPROVED SIGNING

Those published social-visit conditions do not provide a workable basis to assume a paper signing can occur. Ask the correctional center for an authorized professional visit and specific rules for the notary, identification, witnesses, and the document. Never promise that the social-visit schedule is sufficient.

An independent notary is not affiliated with the jail or prison. Staff, not this guide, decide access. The signer must be identified, communicate directly, and voluntarily participate; the notary cannot choose the legal document or guarantee acceptance by its recipient.

CHECK THE DETAILS.

Confirm the document, signer, ID, witness, and location details before a signing.

DIRECTORY & GUIDES

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

Notaries listed here are independent professionals. A time request is not a booking; the notary must confirm availability, fees, and the appointment directly. Listings do not imply our endorsement.

Guides are general information, not legal advice. Public landmarks are orientation points, not a notary office or an approved signing venue. Confirm current requirements with the receiving party.
